iPhone 12 5.4-Inch Screen Live Image Leaked, Same Sized Notch Returns: Report Three iPhone 12 models are expected this year. These iPhone models are also expected to come with 5G support.

iPhone 12 base variant is said to come with a 5.4-inch display and a new leak appears to add more credibility to that rumour, with an alleged image of the display. It also shows the notch that seems to have the same size as the iPhone 11 series. The screen size will make the base variant of the iPhone 12 more comfortable to use one handed. Recently, it was reported that the company is planning on hosting two events, one in September and the other in October, to show off a slew of new products including the iPhone 12 models. As per the Weibo  post  by known tipster Digital Chat Station (translated), the iPhone 12 base variant is said to come with a 5.4-inch display. The tipster shared a photo of the panel with a hand for scale, stating that the screen is 5.4 inches in size. The notch is also visible on the panel and seems to be the same size as that of the  iPhone 11  series, however, the sensors that will be included in the notch are unknown. Heartburn medicine doesn’t work as a COVID-19 antiviral - New findings don’t rule out the chance the antacid might help in other ways

An over-the-counter heartburn remedy probably won’t directly stop coronavirus infections, a new study suggests. Anecdotal reports from China suggested people hospitalized with COVID-19 who were taking famotidine (sold under the brand name Pepcid) had better outcomes than people who took a different type of antacid called a proton pump inhibitor. But famotidine has  no direct antiviral activity  against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, according to preliminary results reported July 15 at bioRxiv.org. Those findings, which have not been reviewed by other scientists yet, suggest famotidine won’t help prevent coronavirus infections or illness. But they don’t rule out that the drug might help in other ways, says Mohsan Saeed, a virologist at Boston University School of Medicine. “We’re not challenging that famotidine might help,” he says. “We’re saying that the mechanism of action is not antiviral.” The result isn’t a complete surprise. “A compound of this nature having ...

OnePlus Nord review: Android’s best bang for your buck 90Hz, modern design, and a $450 price? Awesome.

OnePlus is coming back to the budget smartphone market in a big way with the "OnePlus Nord," a device with an odd name but a pretty spectacular feature set for the ~$450 price tag. We've had the phone for almost two weeks now and can say it's easily one of the best Android phones on the market. Let's talk about what OnePlus is offering. With Snapdragon 865 phones often topping $1,000, this is the first phone we've tried with the cheaper Snapdragon 765G; at just one step down in Qualcomm's lineup, this is what most manufacturers seem to be going with to bring smartphone prices back down to Earth. The phone still has a minimum of 8GB of RAM, and while it's only using UFS 2.1 storage, the phone still feels plenty fast. The headline feature is probably the 90Hz display, which is sneaking out of the flagship realm and into less-expensive phones. The biggest downside to this phone is the distribution; for now, it is not for sale in the US. OnePlus is sending...

Qualcomm’s 100W charging scheme will go from 0-50 in 5 minutes Qualcomm is calling it the “World’s fastest commercial charging solution.”

I In the constantly incremental march of technology, it's not often you get to call something "revolutionary," but Qualcomm's Quick Charge 5 just might be that. The new quick-charging scheme promises to fully charge your phone in just 15 minutes and go from zero to 50 percent charge in five minutes. When the battery is under 50 percent, it will go up one percentage point every six seconds. Qualcomm is calling it the "World's fastest commercial charging solution," and it will probably change how you charge your phone. Qualcomm's eye-popping numbers are based on a 4500mAh battery with a stacked cell configuration (called "2S" and "2SnP" in the slides), allowing it to pump 50W into each cell, for a total of 100W of charging power. Qualcomm says the dual-cell battery architecture helps with charging efficiency, which is 70-percent higher and 10°C cooler than Quick Charge 4 (which is, admittedly, a three-year-old standard.) Quick Charg...

On and off screen, Olivia de Havilland exhibited grit and grace

On screen and off, Olivia de Havilland embodied grit and grace. (Photo by Hulton Archive/Getty Images) (CNN) Olivia de Havilland  represented a throwback to a bygone era, one of the last vestiges of Hollywood during its glamorous golden age. On screen, her characters held their own opposite Scarlett O'Hara and Robin Hood, appearing in black and white and florid color. Although she was a beautiful, often demure personality in movies, de Havilland exhibited a grit offscreen that might have helped explain her longevity, dying decades after many of her co-stars, at the age of 104. As if to punctuate that point, the actress sued the FX network production of  "Feud: Bette and Joan,"  a series devoted to Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, for its depiction of her as a supporting player, making clear that even as a centenarian, she was not someone with which to trifle. Olivia de Havilland, star of 'Gone With the Wind,' dies at 104 De Havilland, famously, had gone to court to ...
